Music Dept. Chair and Band Director Brian Cox recently received an Outstanding Educator Award from the University of Chicago. The award stems from a student-driven nomination process, and honors educators who have changed, challenged or helped their students towards intellectual growth. Recipients are chosen from among exceptional high school teachers whose students have described how they have “changed the course of their lives, taught them to re-imagine texts, to delve deeper into problem solving, and to think beyond the bonds of the classroom.” Mr. Cox is beginning his 17th year of teaching at Salesianum.
